F.lli Pietta began manufacturing guns in 1960, four years later in conjunction with the centenary of the American Civil War; they started manufacturing replica muzzle loading revolvers of the period. A continuous policy of research and product development along with investment in plant and machinery has led to their current status as the maker of the finest replica western guns.
The Sutlers Stores began its association with Pietta in 1999 and is now the sole importer of their products into the UK. A great deal of time and money has been spent by both companies’ to ensure that the current range of forward venting blank firing handguns comply with the latest legislation introduced in 2006 and coming into force later this year.
We are extremely proud of the quality, finish and value of these products which are now available for sale to re-enactors in the UK.
Along with these products we are also able to offer Pietta’s full range of live firing weapons to shooters who hold the appropriate licenses. Please contact our sales department with your enquiries for live firing guns.

The Pietta factory in Brescia

While Pietta's main market is to the USA and Canada for which they produce about 10,000 guns a month, they are still pleased to supply us here in the UK however in order to make the relatively small amount that we can sell here they do have to completely retool the factory! As you can imagine they lose production time whenever they do this so we have to exercise a certain amount of patience by placing our orders 6 months in advance which we then receive on a 3 month delivery cycle.

Colt 1862 Police

The Model 1862 Police was a highly desirable gun in its day and it still is!
It differs from its cousin the Sheriff in that it has the 1860 Colt Army Fluted barrel but cut down to approx 4.75".
This gun is highly sought after by collectors and re-enactors alike, we have been asked by many of you to get these in and it has taken us 3 years to make it happen.
BUT we don't have many and it is unlikely that we will have them again so we advise you to be very quick!
The Police comes with a nickel plated back strap and trigger guard and has a lanyard ring fitted.
